Even though the name is Swiss roll, it is believed that this cake originated in Central Europe, possibly Austria. In Indonesia, we called this cake Bolu Gulung. Most bakeries in Indonesia sell this roll filled with buttercream or fruit jam. It is very common that the bakeries sell it in slices or full roll. Gradually add sugar 1 tablespoon at a time, allowing the sugar to completely dissolve before adding more. Then, you can increase the speed to medium. Beat until the meringue reaches a soft peak.<\/li><li id=\"wpzoom-rcb-direction-step-60b3dd068b49e\" class=\"direction-step\">Add the egg yolk batter into the meringue and fold carefully until incorporated.<\/li><li id=\"wpzoom-rcb-direction-step-60b3dd068b49f\" class=\"direction-step\">Once the batter incorporated, add sifted cake flour and baking powder and fold until combined.
